Rocky Horror Show: Frankly Bonkers

The Rocky Horror Show was ahead of its time on release, and even now, remains ahead of its time, as it is comfortable, even loud and proud about, so much that could make audiences of any era wince. It’s massive achievement beyond that has been to achieve fanatical following that adores the show and dresses accordingly. Many of them turned out at Bromley’s Churchill Theatre on 19th August, and the show runs until 24th August. Tickets here. Header image by Daniel Boud.

When the show last landed in Bromley, we interviewed the actor playing the iconic cross-dresser, Frank N Furter. Stephen Webb. He, like our title, called the show “bonkers”, and conveyed just how much he loved it. Listen here.

For this tour, boy-next-door Aussie Jason Donovan dons the stockings and stilettos and does so with utter relish. Yet, as both Bromley Buzz podcasters present, Sarah Marsh-Collings and Darren Weale agreed, the Narrator, Nathan Caton (above, photo Danny Kaan), with his audience banter and mahogany voice, was a size 13 stand out on the night!
