Community and sponsorship: Terra Firma Landscapes

Sponsors are vital to community initiatives like ours, that set up a multi-media channel based around a podcast to help people within and beyond Bromley to learn about the place, its people, and what is going on here.

Thus we are massively grateful for the financial support given to us by our three sponsors, each of whom we will be writing about in upcoming days. We start with Terra Firma Landscapes, whose Owner-Director Luke Richards is featured in the image above – photograph by Amelia Holdsworth.

We asked Luke why his company chose to help us. He said, “We admire people trying to make a difference in their communities. If people don’t hear about good things, they can’t enjoy them or contribute, so good communications channels like the Bromley Buzz podcast are important. We’re proud to sponsor them. Just listen to their interviews with people as diverse as The Octopus Lady (episode 78), dancer Anton Du Beke (episode 73), and Magpie Dance (episode 67), not counting a lot of episodes where they have multiple interviewees. Of course, I am looking forward to being on a show myself! We do a lot of work in Bromley, and I have plenty to talk about! We know that our sponsorship will help the podcast go from strength to strength.

“We’re also helping Bromley-based charity CASPA (interviewed by the Bromley Buzz in episode 36), ‘a unique, dynamic and award-winning charity, providing a support and social hub for autistic people and their families since 2002.’ CASPA does important work, and we are also proud to be helping CASPA to deliver services for local people.”

Darren from the Bromley Buzz podcast said, “We liked Luke from Terra Firma Landscapes from the first time we met him. He is quite a memorable man, and definitely the only ex-firefighter and bomb disposal expert-turned-landscape gardener that we have met! We want to work with sponsors who share our values and love of the community, and Luke and Terra Firma clearly do so. We like what we have heard of Terra Firma’s plans for future community engagement, and we really look forward to sharing them. Also, working with a company that is enthusiastic about the environment and that talks about such lovely things as rewilding really appeals to us. So that means a big, green thumbs up for Terra Firma Landscapes from the Bromley Buzz team!”
