A Magic Nutcracker

A Magical Christmas Story – The Nutcracker

When dreams magically come to life…. Once again, this Christmas, we are transported to a beautiful world of imagination of a classic tale. Susie (who plays Clara) and Nathaniel (who plays The Nutcracker) create a truly imaginative adventure where their characters bring laughter and joy to all the children, grown-ups included.  The story-telling performance is interactive right from the start, full of colourful characters and lights with sing-along songs. The children in the audience joined in, laughed, clapped and were taken on the magical journey.

On Christmas Eve, Clara chooses one special present from under the tree, The Nutcracker. As magic flows through the room, where The Nutcracker comes to life, and that is where the adventures begin… Together, they set off in search of the magic nut that would restore the Nutcracker to a human boy called Hans.

As we embark on their journey through the land of sweets and toys, we come across Cowboy Bob and Gertrude, the golden-haired doll, also brought to life. Where Clara finds herself having to confront and find the Mouse King. To be brave, she pretends to be The Nutcracker and bravely fights the Mouse King and his army of mice. Hoorah!!!

A totally, unexpected Sugarplum Fairy appears with a modern twist in her neon light-up gloves and accessories. What a cool Sugarplum fairy with her sassy attitude and quirky jokes only for the ears of adults only, she was loved by all.

Both of us were, just like the children, delighted to join in the singing, shaking the shakers and colourful tinsel pom poms!

As in all classic fairy tales, obstacles are defeated, and the magic nut is found. The Nutcracker stays as a human, becoming Hans once more; he and Clara grow old together to tell their magical tale.

The Nutcracker is truly a box of delicious delights filled with sweets, toys, magic and music.

A must-see. A wonderful family day out, even if you don’t have children!

The Nutcracker is playing at Churchill Theatre Bromley from 13th – 22nd December with two performances daily, 10:30am or 12:45pm.  Book here
